The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project is a landmark development in India’s transport infrastructure, setting new standards in speed, technology, and passenger comfort. As part of this visionary initiative, we are providing façade consultancy services for three key stations—Virar, Boisar, and Thane—covering the station buildings, and for Thane station, additionally the entrance building and foot overbridge.
Our scope includes comprehensive consultancy for the design and engineering of high-performance façade systems aligned with the project’s architectural intent and functional requirements. The envelope design incorporates a variety of advanced materials and technologies, including curtain walls, cladding systems with ACP and honeycomb panels, structural and non-structural glazing, and GFRC components such as jali, perforated panels, and cladding. Aluminium perforated panels, vertical louvers, and automatic openable panels are also integrated to enhance visual rhythm, climate responsiveness, and ventilation. A dedicated façade access and cleaning system is embedded into the design to ensure long-term maintainability and operational safety.
We provide services from system detailing and material specification to structural and thermal performance analysis, along with continuous coordination with architectural and engineering teams to ensure constructability, code compliance, and fidelity to the design vision.
Each station’s façade draws inspiration from its unique geographical and cultural context:
- Thane station, located near the Ulhas River, features a roof design on the entrance building shaped to evoke the fluid motion of river waves.
- Virar station, situated on a hilly terrain, adopts a concept symbolizing mountain winds, reflected through the dynamic expression of the façade.
- Boisar station, part of the Konkan coastal belt, presents an abstract interpretation of traditional fishing nets, paying homage to the region’s local fishing communities.
Through a collaborative and detail-driven approach, our consultancy ensures the delivery of technically robust, aesthetically distinctive, and contextually sensitive façade systems that contribute to the iconic identity of the MAHSR corridor.
